DID YOU KNOW
UofL has signed an international letter of understanding with Wenzhou Medical University of Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China, to facilitate the exchange of faculty, students and information for education and research. The 2-year agreement reinforces an existing partnership between WMU and UofL’s Dept. of Pharmacology and Toxicology, signed in 2013.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES
Theresa Hayden, criminal justice professor, and Jennifer Middleton, social work professor, will discuss trafficking issues for minors in Louisville at the Human Trafficking Conference: Local to Global, Dec. 6-7. The conference is organized through the Kentucky Division of the United Nations Association of the United States of America in conjunction with the UN Human Rights Day commemoration.

Please drop off items at the locations listed by Thursday, December 8th. Volunteers are invited to help us pack gift bags for delivery at the PEACC Center on December 9 from 12-2 p.m.

Psychological and Brain Sciences Colloquium series presents, Suzanne Meeks, PhD, Chair of Psychological and Brain Sciences at UofL, on “Why I go to the Theatre: On the possible value of Arts Participation.” Dr. Meeks current research concerns behavioral interventions for depression in nursing homes. This work is embedded in a program of research that involves investigating: anxiety, sleep, medication prescribing, depression, and grief as they pertain to medically ill and cognitively impaired older adults.
