Traffic and TARC detours during Confederate monument removal/street closures
From 7 p.m. Nov. 18 through at least Nov. 23, 2nd and 3rd streets between Eastern Parkway and Cardinal Boulevard will be closed as crews remove the Confederate monument near Freedom Park. During this time, a barricade will be located at Eastern Parkway and 3rd Street, though there will still be access to the Grawemeyer Hall parking lot and other lots in the Oval from the south. Cars exiting the Oval will be allowed to make a left turn only, as no traffic will be permitted between the Oval and Cardinal Boulevard. For those who rely on TARC transportation, Route 94 will be available with a stop by University Pointe, at 4th Street and Brandeis Avenue. A map is available online for other 3rd Street alternative bus stops.
