UofL Investigator Network, InNet

When a business needs a researcher to conduct an investigation for a product or drug, or if an investigator needs a collaborator, finding the right research partner can be a challenge. A new networking tool soon will be available to help these individuals identify researchers at the University of Louisville who have the expertise they need.

The UofL Investigator Network, InNet, is the result of a collaboration among research-related entities at UofL. They are working to assemble profiles of researchers related to their areas of exploration across the university under a single umbrella. InNet also will help students identify potential mentors conducting research in an area they would like to work, as well as provide marketing and networking opportunities on campus.

“There is a huge need for a repository of investigators,” said Lale Akca, MBA, executive director of the UofL Clinical Trials Unit. “Companies often contact us seeking investigators for their projects. We hope to take advantage of these opportunities as an institution by making this resource available for individuals and groups around the world to identify potential partners at UofL.”

In addition to compiling an online database of investigators, InNet will work to promote their research via social media, direct opportunities to researchers, advertise expertise to the industry and create social and networking opportunities for the researchers.

Investigators throughout UofL are invited to be among the charter members of the InNet community by attending the launch party during Research!Louisville. Stop by room 101 in the Kosair Charities Clinical and Translational Research Building any time between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 to submit your information to InNet and enjoy networking with representatives from the research offices, refreshments, gifts and door prizes.
